Employment Surge in Canada
Recent reports by Statistics Canada revealed that 232,000 skilled workers were recruited in multiple, high-demand job sectors. Canada shows a surge in employment for the second consecutive month in March 2024. The average weekly income increased by 4.2 % in March on a Y-O-Y basis.
Payroll employment in Canada shot up by 1.3% in March, as reported by the statistical and demographic services agency. Employment opportunities are more in 11 out of 20 demanding job sectors in Canada. More than 11,700 jobs were reported from the healthcare and social assistance job sectors.

Skilled Worker immigration via PNP
Canada offers various immigration programs to attract skilled workers. Skilled immigrants can apply for a Canada PR via the Express Entry system and the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).
All major Canadian provinces hold PNP draws to invite foreign workers. According to recent reports, Prince Edward Island saw an increase in employment opportunities among major provinces in Canada. Job vacancies shot up by 600 or 28.3% in PEI as of March 2024.
