Highlights: More than 89,000+ EU Blue Cards were issued to skilled professionals in 2023; Germany tops the list
- European countries issued 89000 EU Blue Cards to foreign nationals in 2023.
 - Germany issued most cards, while Indians were top beneficiaries.
 - In 2023, the number of EU Blue cards granted increased by 8.8 percent from the previous year.

Nationalities that issued most of the EU Blue Card in 2023
A total number of 89,037 EU Blue Cards were issued to non-EU citizens in 2023, which allowed qualified, skilled workers with the necessary skills and knowledge to work and live in one of 27 countries of the European Union.
 
Of 89,037 EU Blue Cards, Indians were granted 21,228, or 23.8 percent. In 2023, Belarusian and Iraqi nationals also obtained a high number of EU Blue Cards in 2023, representing 5.9 and 4.5 percent of the total.

Germany is the top country that issued an EU Blue Card to a non-resident in 2023. Below are the details of the countries that issued visas for foreign nationals in 2023:

Some countries have simplified their immigration rules to attract skilled workers, such as Greece, which allows foreign nationals under a visa-free regime.
