Highlights: British Columbia announces Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Stream as Permanent one
- British Columbia has made the Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Stream a permanent PNP stream.

Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Stream
Eligible candidates who want to settle in British Columbia through business now have a new pathway: The Entrepreneur Immigration Program. The Program will allow international entrepreneurs to start a company that supports British Columbia's innovation and growth.
The Entrepreneur Immigration Program is a pathway to permanent residency in Canada. The applicant will first be accepted under the Program temporarily to live and work in British Columbia.
After they have successfully set-up the business, their temporary residency status will be changed to permanent residency.

Eligibility Criteria to apply for EI Regional Stream
The EI Regional Stream is for the international entrepreneur who wants to start a business in a small community to support the development of regional areas in British Columbia.
Through this program communities will participate in businesses, each with the already identified types of business they will be focusing on. Eligible candidates must visit the community they plan to work with and be assigned a community contact to ease the process from the early stage.
Entrepreneurs must receive a community referral to register and apply under the EI Regional stream.
To be eligible under this program, the applicant must:
- Set-up a new business arranged with the priorities of the referring community
- Explain the business or management experience
- Have sufficient funds above CAD 300,000
- Personal investment of at least CAD 100,000 in the business
- Language Proficiency of CLB level 4
- Eligible legal immigrant of Canada
- Lawfully admitted to the country where they live
If the candidates are able to meet the above criteria, then they can proceed to contact the community that they are looking for the business.
