Croatia to grant work permits to foreign workers
The Interior Ministry of Croatia has announced that it will grant 20,000 work visas to skilled foreign workers every month. The government has taken the decision to address the labor shortage situation across various sectors, with tourism in focus. Workers from coastal cities receive the maximum number of visas, while the capital city witness fewer work permits issued to seasonal workers. The Ministry further added that most work visas are given for employment purposes.

Croatia Liberal with Residence Permits
Croatia issued over 85,000 residence permits from January to July 2024. The extension of around 32,000 permits made up 78% of the overall permits issued in 2023. According to the Poslovni reports, there is a steady increase in the total number of seasonal workers, with 15,000 permits issued. A noticeable difference in the visas issued was seen in Split-Dalmatia County, Dubrovnik-Neretva, and Istria.

The data released by the 2023 EURES Report highlights the labor shortage across 30 occupations in Croatia. Most foreign workers will be allotted to the coastal cities as they face an increased labor shortage crisis, particularly in the tourism sector.
