France: The First EU country to issue online Schengen visas
France has announced and implemented online application processes for Schengen visas starting January 1, 2024. The country plans to issue 70,000 online visas to applicants participating in the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
A new operating system known as the “Olympic Consulate” has been implemented since January 2024. The new system will process applications of 9,000 journalists, 15,000 athletes, and foreign delegates attending the 2024 Olympic Games.
