Details about the new rules:
Saudi Arabia introduced strict rules for domestic workers to obtain visas. Under these new rules, Saudi citizens, Gulf nationals, foreign wives of Saudi men and their mothers, and holders of Saudi premium residency permits can apply for visas to hire overseas domestic help, depending on their financial criteria.
The Saudi government took this initiative to make the immigration process smoother and more accessible to the domestic labor market.
These services ensure:
- visa issuance
- recruitment requests
- Contractual relationship between employers and workers.
The wage transfer services for domestic workers would be through digital services, the Musaned platform through STC pay, and the Uruguay app. It also transfers house worker services between employers by authenticating domestic labor contracts.
Eleven categories of domestic workers are eligible to apply:
- housekeepers
- drivers
- housemaids
- cleaners
- cooks
- guards
- farmers
- tailors
- live-in nurses
- tutors
- nannies
This will ensure the platform without disputes and benefit employers and domestic workers.
