To be eligible for an E-2 Business Visa, applicants must satisfy these requirements:
- The applicant must hold citizenship from a country which maintains a treaty with the United States.
 - The applicant must invest a significant amount of money into a business located in the United States.
 - The applicant needs to maintain either more than 50% ownership or operational control of the business.
 - The business must show evidence of being non-marginal through its ability to generate significant revenue along with creating job opportunities for American workers.
 - After their visa expires the applicant must plan to leave the United States unless they obtain another legal status.
