Yes, a valid job offer is mandatory for most types of Italy work visas. Without it, you cannot begin the visa process.

Why it's needed:

  • Employer applies for your work authorization (Nulla Osta)
  • Italian government verifies your employment status
  • Seasonal and salaried permits both require employer sponsorship
  • The visa is issued only after the job contract is verified

Self-employment visas are the only exception and have different requirements.
