To maintain your Canada PR status, you must:
- Physically reside in Canada for at least 730 days (2 years) within every 5-year period
- Avoid prolonged absences without proper documentation or valid reasons
- Renew your PR card before it expires
- Comply with Canadian laws and avoid serious criminal activity that may affect your status
Note: Time spent outside Canada, including the UAE, generally does not count toward residency unless exceptions apply, such as employment with a Canadian company abroad.
